Why TradeComply exists

If you're a small UK subcontractor, the accreditation maze is its own job. CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline, SMAS, Acclaim: overlapping schemes, annual renewals, and consultants offering to fill in the forms. Published prices for that service run from £295 for a firm under five people to £900 plus VAT, depending on who you ask. Most of the content you find online is bait for that service, and it goes quiet exactly where the useful detail should start.

TradeComply is the opposite. We're an independent information resource. We don't sell form-filling, we don't take placement fees from the schemes, and we don't run ads. That neutrality is the whole point. It's what lets us publish the real figures and the full question categories that the consultancies bury.

How we keep it honest

Scheme fees, tiers, and question sets change. So every guide carries a visible “last reviewed” date and a record of the sources we checked. Where we can't verify a specific figure from a primary source, we say so and describe the category instead of inventing a number. If you spot something out of date, tell us.

What we built

The honest, residual pain, the part mutual recognition doesn't solve, is tracking renewal deadlines, re-uploading the same evidence to each scheme, and the tiers Deem to Satisfy doesn't reach. So we built the tool for exactly that: every renewal date, every certificate, one place. It's £9.90 a month, and you can cancel whenever you like.

The guides stay free, independent and ad-free regardless. No scheme pays to be here, and we don't sell form-filling, so our answer to “which scheme is cheapest” never depends on what we'd rather sell you.

How we handle data

Always on, no cookies. We count page visits so we know which guides people actually reach. This sets nothing on your device and reads nothing back from it — there is no cookie, and no identifier that follows you to another site or back here tomorrow. It is a count of pages, not a record of a person, and it runs whether or not you accept anything.

Only if you accept. Saying yes to the cookie banner turns on two things: Google Analytics, and PostHog, which records how far people get through a guide and replays sessions so we can see where a page loses someone. Everything you type is masked in those replays — form fields are never captured. PostHog runs on EU servers. Neither is switched on until you press Accept, and declining leaves the site working exactly as it does now.

Never. We do not sell your data, we run no advertising, and we do not track you across other websites. There is no ad network on this site to sell to.

Changing your mind. Clearing this site’s data in your browser forgets the decision and we will ask again. Declining then stops the cookie-based layer for good on that browser.
